Location
Situated on a private 70-acre island on Lake George at Bolton Landing, The Sagamore is a one-hour drive from Albany, New York; a four-hour drive from New York City on the New York State Thruway (I-87) leading to the Adirondack Northway. Bolton Landing is three hours south of Montreal and four hours northwest of Boston.

Description
The Sagamore is a year-round luxury resort located on Green Island in the heart of the Adirondack Mountains. Originally built in 1883, the resort, which has had a varied and colorful history, underwent a $75 million restoration and opened for the fourth time in 1985. Listed in the National Register of Historic Places, the 350-room resort is equipped with state-of-the-art conference facilities available for small, medium or large meetings. The first half of a two-part renovation to The Historic Hotel was completed in Spring 2001, with the second half completed in the Spring of 2002.

This 330-room property offers a choice of accommodations. Originally built in 1883 and lovingly restored, The Historic Hotel features 100 luxurious rooms and suites decorated in country grand appointments with a "club" ambiance to accentuate the hotel's classic architecture. The Lodges feature 240 rooms including 120 spacious suites with fireplaces and terraces. The Hermitage, a self-contained executive retreat with its 10 bi-leveled suites overlooking Lake George, is available for small groups or individuals. Both The Lodges and Hermitage are furnished in Adirondack-style, with an elegant yet distinctly laid-back ambience. Guest room facilities include: air conditioning, in-room cable movies, message alert, hi-fi radio, remote-control color television, direct-dial telephones, large sitting areas, wet bars and terraces (available in 130 suites).

The Condominiums are also available for short-term rental.

Sports and Recreation
Golf: The award-winning par 70, 18-hole championship Donald Ross golf course with Pro Shop is located on 188 acres on the mainland. The resort provides complimentary transportation.

Tennis and Racquetball: The resort features an award-winning Tennis Club, including a racquetball court, and one indoor and five outdoor tennis courts with a choice of Har Tru or hard surfaces. Individual and group lessons are available.

The Sagamore Spa: This full-service health and fitness club offers various treatments ranging from facials and body wraps to Swedish massage and Stone Therapy. The Spa's hydrotherapy center includes steam rooms, saunas, and whirlpools. The separate 3,800 square-foot Fitness Club offers state-of-the-art exercise equipment, including treadmills, free weights, and complimentary exercise classes.

Water Activities: An indoor/outdoor heated swimming pool offers year-round enjoyment. Lakefront facilities include a private beach area, a full-service marina, fishing charters, water skiing, wind surfing, sailing and parasailing.

Winter Activities: The Sagamore takes advantage of the glorious Adirondack winter by offering cross country skiing, ice skating, ice fishing and sledding. In addition, complimentary daily shuttle service to nearby Gore Mountain is provided for downhill skiing.

Others: The resort is surrounded by jogging and walking trails. Guest Services can also arrange horseback riding and white-water rafting nearby. The Sagamore is also located near many historical and cultural attractions, as well as factory outlets for shopping bargains.


Conference Facilities
25,000 square feet of meeting and function space is available at The Sagamore in three different locations:.

Historic Hotel: Six meeting rooms, including one 2,600 square-foot ballroom which can be divided, one 720 square-foot room, a 650 square foot dedicated Executive Board room, and two 290 square-foot rooms. 

Conference Center: Boasting a 10,800 square-foot ballroom with banquet seating for 800, this state-of-the-art meeting facility also offers three 960 square-foot rooms which can accommodate up to 70 each in classroom style. 

The Hermitage:  This former carriage house has been converted into an exclusive executive retreat that is available to host small VIP gatherings. It has its own permanent boardroom and 10 deluxe lofted bedroom suites, each of which has its own private garden and dining area.

Shelving Rock Terrace: An elegant canopied venue, offers an exceptional setting in warm weather for weddings, special events and banquets.


Dining
The diversity of The Sagamore's activities is complemented by its wide array of culinary options:

Trillium bis: The resort's fine-dining restaurant, recipient of the AAA Four-Diamond Award and Wine Spectator's "Award of Excellence" since 1991, is known as the best in the region. Offering exquisite cuisine for dinner and brunch, an extensive wine list, and a luxurious ambiance. Seats 120.

Sagamore Dining Room: Serves a gourmet buffet breakfast year-round featuring a full-service omelet station, as well as dinner in July and August. Seats 200.

Mister Brown's: An Adirondack-style inspired eatery, the casual setting serves a pub-style menu for lunch and dinner, in addition to providing evening entertainment. Seats 70.

The Club Grill: Perched on a hill overlooking the picturesque first tee and Lake George, this newly renovated New York-style steakhouse sports a rustic décor and casual atmosphere for lunch and dinner. Seats 90.

The Pool Terrace: Conveniently located in the pool area, the Pool Terrace offers seasonal snacks and beverages, such as salads, sandwiches, pizzas and ice cream bars. Open all summer.

The Veranda: Located in the Historic Hotel, this glass-enclosed room affords a panoramic view of glorious Lake George. Offerings include afternoon tea, tapas, sushi and creative drink specials

The Morgan: This 72-foot yacht offers a unique setting for lunch or dinner while cruising the waters of Lake George. Available for groups or individuals from May through October.

Room Service: Full service is offered in summer months from 6 a.m. - 2 a.m. daily and from 7 a.m. - 11 p.m. daily at other times.

Transportation
The Sagamore is a short drive from most Mid-Atlantic, New England, Quebec and Ontario Province metropolitan areas. Other travel options include Amtrak train service to Albany Renssalear and air service (Southwest, US Air, American, Continental and others) to the newly renovated Albany International Airport. From Albany, The Sagamore will provide car service for a minimal fee.
